Mr Windsor placed his entry form when visiting the Widex "Hearing Garden" co-sponsored with the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP) at the show.
The garden, a first of its kind at the event, was designed exclusively around enjoying typical garden sounds. It also scooped a Gold Medal and Best Small Garden Award.
"Of course, I never imagined I would win," said a delighted Mr Windsor, "and so, was overjoyed when Vicki Skeels of The Hearing Care Centre, AIHHP Member and Widex's local service partner, called to give me the good news. It had become abundantly clear to me (and my family) over the last few years that I have a hearing problem."
Vicki and her team have now fitted Mr Windsor with the latest, top-of-the-range Widex Passion hearing aids. The smallest aid of its kind (behind-the-ear), Passion is stylish, discreet and packed full of powerful digital technology.
A keen gardener, Mr Windsor says, "I can't wait to go home and finally hear my bamboo moving in the breeze, and also my waterfall." These simple sounds of nature are often those which people with even moderate hearing loss report missing the most, but also enjoy rediscovering when first using today's modern new hearing aids.
Retired army medic, Mr Antony Windsor of Colchester, has been selected from the many visitors to the "Listening Wall" at the recent Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, as the winner of a full hearing evaluation and dispensing of the most advanced digital hearing aids worth over £4,000, donated by AIHHP and international hearing aid manufacturer, Widex. |
